    bought this to get sound working again after the on-board unit stopped working somehow quick and easy setup, plugged it in, let windows install the drivers from the cd selected the new audio device under sound options in the control panel (this step probably not necessary for most people unless you already have on-board sound as well), and was good to go.

    Couldn't get the drivers to work, so I just went to the store and got a different card and it installed right away.. Dont know what is wrong but I didnt even bother with their chat support

    My hard drive crashed in my six-year-old Dell Dimension 8400, Pentium 4, 2 Gb of RAM. The OEM Creative SoundBlaster was a "special" model placed in Dell computers. The drivers were no longer available. I still wanted the computer to have sound but did not want to spend a lot of money for an older machine. This sound card by StarTech is perfect. The sound was much better than I expected. In fact, I'd have to say it sounded better than the SoundBlaster ever did. Setup was extremely easy. The software on the CD-Rom is very simple to use. I had no problems running it on my Windows XP Pro operating system. I would definitely consider other products from StarTech

    It was just as was described. I had to upgrade my PC at home, and this made for a great Sound Card choice for normal use.
